I
started building Nyckelharpor in the late 1970`s .. In the beginning of
the 1980`s I met Sven -Olof Sundell and during one year I got to learn just
about everything there is to know about Nyckelharpan. Sven-Olof, who had
been a student of " Master" Erik Sahlström had a lot to teach
me. Since then I have held courses in Nyckelharpsbuilding and I have built
approximately 100 Nyckelharpor that are spread all over Sweden from Kiruna
in north to Lilla Edet in the south. Some of the Nyckelharps have found
a new home in Finland,Norway,Germany,Russia, Canada and USA too.
In recent years I have , together with Torbjörn
Näsbom ( who is the owner of two of
EW Mason Nyckelharpor)
made some changes to the keybox and the shape to
improve the holding and plying of the Nyckelharpa.
